Water - Blue Gold: Essential to All Life on Earth

Water - Blue Gold: Essential to All Life on Earth

This summer's Gallery 6 art exhibit at the Children's Museum of New Hampshire takes inspiration from one of the world's most precious resources: water. Through Sept. 4, a show titled "Water - Blue Gold: Essential to All Life on Earth" will be on display for all visitors to enjoy. In this invitational exhibit, more than two dozen area artists present visuals of water and of the myriad ways life on earth depends upon it. From water's beauty in nature and its vital role inside organisms, to the many ways we use water for survival, transport, and recreation, water is explored in a rich variety of mediums - photography, painting, illustration, printmaking, collage, fiber, and more - and in styles that are realistic, abstract, evocative, colorful, lively, and fun. Artists whose work is showcased in the Water - Blue Gold exhibit include Sean Bixby, Denise Brown, Mary Byrom, Cori Caputo, Eve Corey, Tess Feltes, Tim Gaudreau, Suzie Goodwin, Gretchen Hatfield, Michael Kaplan, Susan Kaufmann, Shaula Levenson, Theresa McCue, K Lee Mock, Fleur Palau, Shawn Pelech, Hannah Phelps, Eva Powers, Sue Pretty, Andy J. Smith, Wendy Turner, Charter Weeks, Peter Welch and Teri Wiedner. Shown is "Tidepool, Braveboat Harbor" by Turner. "The Water - Blue Gold" exhibit in Gallery 6 can be viewed during regular business hours at the Children's Museum of New Hampshire in Dover. 742-2002, www.childrens-museum.org.
