Client project details

Augusta County Service Authority, VA (Augusta Springs)

The Project

EGGI was retained by the Augusta County Service Authority (ACSA) to investigate the potential to develop an alternative water supply for Augusta Springs, Virginia. The first Phase of this investigation resulted in the delineation of zones considered to be favorable for groundwater development.

Geophysical surveys that were subsequently conducted, within selected favorable Groundwater Development Zones, resulted in the identification of specific test well drilling targets. The first well drilled produced a sustainable yield in excess of 500,000 gpd.

Status/Results:

EGGI developed a Production Well that was ultimately tested and permitted for public use and currently serves the local area of Augusta Springs, Virginia. This Production Well served as the replacement of the former drought-sensitive spring supply and was critical to securing a very dependable water supply that has been sustainable through long-term dry periods.

"In this day and time it seems that most of the focus is directed toward negative issues rather than the positive ones.  I feel that it is important to recognize the efforts that are made ... therefore, both Don Moyers (ACSA Water Superintendent) and I feel it is appropriate that you be made aware of the exceptional effort Mr. Dan Tinkham put forth during our recent well pumping tests.  Mr. Tinkham was charged with a testing schedule that would have been considered ambitious under the best of conditions ... Mr. Tinkham provided a very valuable service in the way he treated and talked to the local residents.  Mr. Tinkham should be commended for his poise and professionalism under extremely arduous conditions.  It has been a pleasure working with Dan on this project, and we hope to be able to work with him on future projects.”
