Environmental Assessment of MTBE Contamination, Round Hill, Virginia

The Project

EGGI was asked to evaluate the results of the site assessments that had been completed on leaking underground gasoline tanks in the center of Round Hill, Virginia. MTBE being released from those leaking tanks was migrating towards Public Water Supply Wells. EGGI was asked to sample several existing and proposed Production Wells and to evaluate the likelihood that MTBE contamination would restrict pumping from the Production Wells.

Status/Results:

EGGI completed the sampling of several wells and our recommendations helped the Town of Round Hill and the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VDEQ) proceed to design a course of action to mitigate the MTBE contamination of the Public Supply Wells.
