Client project details
Cold Stone Springs (Jaffrey, NH)
The Project
EGGI’s client desired to develop a spring water supply on property located in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. EGGI conducted a groundwater exploration program to identify the most favorable areas for developing a bottled water source. Once a Production Well had been constructed, a hydro-geochemical groundwater testing program was conducted to provide evidence that the Production Well withdrew water from the same source as nearby springs. The long-term testing of the Production Well included an assessment of pumping impacts on the nearby river and wetlands. Additional Production Wells were installed and tested as a potential source of municipal public water. EGGI worked closely with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) to coordinate a complicated testing program to meet the criteria of multiple State groundwater withdrawal regulations.
Status/Results:
EGGI successfully installed and tested three Production Wells, one of which was approved for the withdrawal of “spring water.” The other two Wells were approved for use as municipal water supply wells. All necessary permits for these water sources have been obtained from the NHDES.
